I would have no hesitation in recommending to outsource your golf management services to GCMS. Having worked with them over the last 2 years our experiences to date has been an insightful, pleasant and cost effective.
Given the poor financial climate over the last number of years, a lot of emphasis had been on reducing and stabilising costs. Having negotiated our way throughout those painful times with GCMS, not only did we reduce costs but improved the presentation of our golf course. Since introducing their custom built software system, it has allowed us to see where our man hours are being spent and identify cost savings on materials. The result of this has been threefold, increased productivity, better management of stock items and cost savings (for both parties).
Given the hands approach by their dedicated regional Superintendent (Iain Richie) and his experience working with many other clubs in the region, they can quickly identify the early signs of disease and act accordingly. All of which has resulted in the our course having 2 years of superb greens.
In order to improve the condition and presentation of our Golf Course, the Committee determined in 2014 that it was time to re-evaluate our existing maintenance contract. Following a wide ranging examination of the options available it was decided to award the contract for course maintenance to Carr Golf. Carr Golf commenced work in January 2015 and their impact was immediate and positive. Their highly qualified and professional staff worked tirelessly to ensure sustained incremental improvement in course conditions. In particular their strong work ethic, performance analysis, data, attention to detail and their can do attitude has greatly impressed and is regularly commented upon by the members.
By contracting Carr Golf, we achieved certainty in costs allowing the committee to plan future course developments. Allied to this the general course condition has improved to such an extent that membership increased in 2015 for the first time in four years and revenues from green fees and societies increased by 40% over the 2014 outturn. Additionally Carr Golf have at all times been available to provide valuable advice on marketing and other management issues.
