Iain Ritchie

Iain Ritchie began his career in his native Scotland where he started with Souters of Stirling a sports turf construction company learning his trade from the grass roots upwards. During his time spent there he attended Elmwood Agricultural College studying Greenkeeping and Golf Course Management. His first role as Course manager was at Ladybank Golf Club in Fife a final qualifying course for The Open Championship close to St. Andrew’s.

In 1990 he moved to Ireland to assume the position of Links Superintendent at Portmarnock Golf Club where he remained for 18 years. During his time in Portmarnock Golf Club Iain presented the course for a number of Irish Opens and in 1991 for the Walker Cup Matches.

In 2010 Ian joins the Carr Golf Group as Regional Superintendent.
