Iain Ritchie

Iain Ritchie began his career in his native Scotland where he started with Souters of Stirling a sports turf construction company learning his trade from the grassroots upwards. During his time spent there, he attended Elmwood Agricultural College studying Greenkeeping and Golf Course Management. His first role as Course manager was at Ladybank Golf Club in Fife a final qualifying course for The Open Championship close to St. Andrew’s.

In 1990 he moved to Ireland to assume the position of Links Superintendent at Portmarnock Golf Club where he remained for 18 years. During his time in Portmarnock Golf Club Iain presented the course for a number of Irish Opens and in 1991 for the Walker Cup Matches.

In 2010 Iain joins the Carr Golf Group as Regional Superintendent where he currently oversees seven golf courses around the country, most notably Foxrock golf club and Castleknock golf club seen as two of the flagship courses within our broad portfolio of courses.

With over 40 years of experience in the golf industry Iains knowledge allows Carr golf the opportunity to present the best possible playing conditions that are expected from course members and golf competitors. Iain is always striving to improve his own knowledge and skillset, while always taking the time to mentor the skills of the Carr golf team.
