PGA Professional Hugh Feeney join the team in April 2017. Hugh had previously experienced great success as a coach both in Ireland and abroad, helping golfers to achieve; national and provincial titles as well as scratch cups and golf scholarships. Hugh has a proven track record of improving golfers of all skill levels.
Hugh’s coaching beliefs have been influenced by the work of; biomechanics, sports scientists, sports psychologists, other golf coaches, along with other practitioners in the wider domain of professional sport. By drawing from such a broad range of expertise he offers a holistic approach to coaching golf which best serves the varying needs of any individual golfer.
In 2015 after returning from Melbourne where Hugh spent two years as a senior golf coach at Golftec Australia, his commitment to improving golfers lead him to move to the United Kingdom where he undertook a 12 month full-time masters in Sports Biomechanics, attending Manchester Metropolitan University. Hugh is currently the only PGA Professional in Ireland with a Masters in Sports Biomechanics. His Masters culminated with him doing an original piece of research on how weight transfer in the golf swing effects performance. Hugh is one of a handful of golf instructors around the world who uses his own scientific findings on a daily basis to improve golfers of all skill levels.
Hugh’s commitment to his own continuous professional developed was rewarded in 2017 as he was awarded AA class membership of the PGA. Hugh is also a qualified Trackman Level 1 and level 2 certified golf coach, along with holding a Boditrak ground mechanics certification.
