Alex Saul joins Carr Golf
Following four years at Connacht Rugby as Head of Commercial & Marketing, Alex Saul has been appointed Group Head of Sales & Marketing at Carr Golf Group.
With over 25 years of experience and lineage in the industry, Carr Golf Group has become a trusted partner to golf clubs across Ireland, delivering best in class management and advisory solutions. Whilst also continuing to lead the way in the creation and delivery of bespoke, luxury golf travel solutions and events in Ireland and Scotland.
In a newly created role within the Senior Management team, Saul is responsible for the development and implementation of marketing and growth strategies across the group companies, with a focus on scaling the team and partner network to implement growth plans.
During his time with Connacht Rugby, Saul led significant change within the commercial programme post Rugby World Cup 2011, contributing to the management effort which saw the team win the Pro12 in 2016.
Prior to Connacht Rugby, Saul spent 4 years with the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) as Group Sponsorship & Branding Manager, where he was responsible for all sponsorship sales and rights delivery across the WRU Group and worked on multiple 6 Nations & Autumn Series campaigns as well as the 2011 Rugby World Cup.
Saul began his international sports marketing career with European Rugby Cup (ERC), subsequently taking in events and sponsorship roles spanning the Heineken Cup and Challenge Cup.
A keen golfer and fly fisherman, Saul also played rugby with Bective Rangers in Donnybrook before moving to Wales. Spare time is spent trying to get the handicap down and chasing that elusive Atlantic salmon here in Ireland.
Saul will now work in his capacity at Carr Golf Group to develop sales, marketing and brand communications plans and lead the development of a customer centric philosophy throughout the organisation.
