Review
Set in 200 acres of magnificent countryside, the Hanbury Manor Hotel & Country Club lies less than 30 miles north of London. Originally built by Edmund Hanbury in 1890 as a private residence, the property spent 60 years as a convent and boarding school before it was opened in 1990 as a stunning five-star hotel. The beauty of the surroundings, friendly service, quality of cuisine and range of leisure and sporting facilities all conspire to ensure that Hanbury Manor remains in a league of its own.

Guests may take afternoon tea in the baronial Oak Hall, enjoy a drink in the cocktail bar or sample a range of delicious cuisine in either of the restaurants. The French-inspired Zodiac Restaurant serves imaginative cuisine in an elegant surrounding while the Oakes Grill & Bar, overlooking the golf course and grounds, offers a more relaxed dining experience. Every bedroom and suite at Hanbury Manor boasts its own individual style and surrounds you in traditional luxury with all the facilities one would expect from a five-star hotel.

The range of leisure facilities and treatments are very much in keeping with the overall quality of this hotel. With echoes of ancient Rome, the large swimming pool and spa bath are major attractions, while guests may also relax in the sauna and steam room or take advantage of the soothing treatments offered in the health and beauty salon. There is little doubt however, that the star of the show at Hanbury Manor is the Jack Nicklaus designed golf course. Offering cleverly designed hazards and superb greens; despite its relative youth in golfing terms, the course has already played host to the European PGA English Open from 1997 to 1999.
