Review
Las Casas de la Juder?a is located in the heart of the Santa Cruz Jewish Quarter, one of the most charming areas of Seville where important families of the Spanish high nobility like the Zu??ga, the Padilla or the Manriquez dwelled in the past. The hotel is designed in what can be described as a harmonious blend of classic and modern architecture with Moorish and Andaluc?an influences brought together to create a charming and picturesque style. Set in four buildings all linked by pretty courtyards and picturesque squares this collection of buildings are steeped in history. Formerly housing a palace/convent during the 17th century, this was once the residence of the Duke of B?jar a great character in the history of Spain's aristocracy and known as the patron of Cervantes. According to legend, once converted into a hotel the buildings served as lodgings for the first American Indians brought to Europe by Christopher Columbus.
The hotel's 116 rooms are beautifully decorated in antique style and fully equipped with all the luxuries one can expect from a 4star star hotel - air-conditioning, telephone, satellite television, safe and mini-bar as well as a complete bathroom with hair dryer and hydro-massage bath-tube. Some of the rooms have four poster beds and all have balconies, some facing the street and others overlooking one of the hotel's four interior Andaluci?n style patios. Every morning the hotel serves a magnificent buffet in the Sal?n de los Espejos, and at evenings enjoy live music in the hotel's piano bar in the Sal?n del Marqu?s de Villamanrique or chose from the hotel restaurant's menu that offers a variety of Mediterranean and International cuisine with some Seville specialities.
Situated in the heart of the old Jewish Quarter of Seville behind the former synagogue of Santa Mar?a la Blanca, the hotel lies just 200 metres from the famous Gothic Cathedral and within a short distance from the Alc?zar. It is ideally located for exploring the cultural areas of interest of this magnificent city.
