Nestled in a quiet, elegant neighbourhood by the cultural and business centre of La Castellana, Hotel Orfila is housed in a small, exclusive and tranquil palace dating from the 19th century and was first opened in 1999. The palace itself was built in 1886 as a family home for the high bourgeois. In the 1920's, due to the strong literary and theatrical interest of the family, a theatre was set up in the small palace of Orfila 6, which brought fame to the theatre throughout Madrid. In the 1990?s, restoration work was carried out on the palace to transform it into a hotel and today the original fa?ade, hall and steps still remain while luxury modern facilities were added.
The hotel has 28 rooms and 4 suites, each with a view of either the street or a private garden and they are all attractive, spacious and beautifully decorated with classic furnishings. Details such as warm colours, English wallpapers and the highest quality linen, create a refined atmosphere that gives the guest the feeling of residing in a nineteenth century mansion.
