Centrally located along Barcelona's Gran Via, in a classic 19th century neighbourhood filled with elegant shops and apartment buildings, the Hotel Avenida Palace dates back to the early 1900's when the building housed a fashionable concert hall and tea salon.
Having recently undergone refurbishments, the hotel conveys elegance and antiquated style despite dating from only 1952. The lobby is wonderfully ornate with magnificent curving staircases leading off in many directions and decorated with marble stairs, gilded lattice-work gates and towering marble columns. Small touches such as double frosted-glass doors, large bathrooms (with a whirlpool in the master suite), and wide corridors render the Hotel Avenida Palace formal and grand, without feeling imposing.

The hotel's 151 rooms have recently been redecorated in a classic art deco style yet still retain their former elegance. Spacious and elegant, they are decorated in dark and light woods and fitted with a range of excellent facilities in order to ensure guests have the most comfortable stay possible. These include a private bath, an RSDI analogue phone line with modem connection, mini-bar, satellite television and adjustable air conditioning and heating. The hotel has two restaurants. The first, the renowned El Candelabro Restaurant, located on the lobby floor and hugely popular, serves traditional Catalan fare, with a touch of French and Italian influence and complemented by a piano player during the evening. The second is the Pinacoteca Restaurant featuring art deco furnishings and serving a buffet breakfast every morning.
