The Arts hotel is the first European hotel to be operated by the Ritz - Carlton hotel group and is housed in a magnificent 44 floor skyscraper set on the shores of the Mediterranean overlooking the city's Port Ol?mpic. Located about 2.4Km southwest of Barcelona's historic centre, the d?cor in this modern hotel is contemporary and elegant, with a large lobby sheathed in slabs of soft grey and yellow marble. A hotel of true 5star quality, the staff are well trained, polite and there are special touches such as fresh fruit at the reception and a line of taxis outside the front entrance for guests' convenience. The exterior of the hotel, designed by legendary Chicago architects Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill, is a sheer glass-and steel cube, criss-crossed by massive metal beams that surround and envelop the hotel's core - a virtual work of art. The guest rooms are housed on the 33 of the hotels 44 floor and the upper floors are reserved for the private condominiums of some of the country's most extinguished aristocrats and financiers.
The 482 elegant rooms and suites enjoy magnificent views of the city and the Mediterranean Sea and are decorated in pastel shades of yellow or blue.
