Details
Alcaidesa Links Golf Course, which opened in 1992, is a golfing experience like no other in Spain. Located west of San Roque, it is the first true links course in the country. Alcaidesa offers stunning views of the Rock of Gibraltar and, beyond, the Atlas mountains of northern Morocco.
Under the chairmanship of Mr. Juan José Abaitua, and the management of D. Fernando Aspuru this course has recently undergone an extensive programme of remodeling - fairways have been improved and widened and greens have been leveled off with the result that the layout is now acceptable for golfers of all abilities. Water comes into play on the course especially at the par three 2nd and windswept heights provide a stiff test to those wishing to keep on line.
Alcaidesa has a modest yet comfortable Clubhouse building which will soon be transformed when a second course, to be built by Dave Thomas, gets underway later this year. Facilities include the Pro Shop, a driving range, club rental and storage, buggy rental, changing rooms and lockers, a putting green and lessons for groups and individuals.
Location
Use the Malaga-Cadiz N340, and exit 124 (La Linea de la Concepci?n/Gibraltar). Turn right using the highway feeder until the Condominium La Alcaidesa. Follow the signs to the golf course.
