Details
Mijas International Golf Club is the busiest, most popular golf complex in Spain and it comprises of two 18 hole golf courses, Los Lagos and Los Olivos. Both courses were designed by Robert Trent Jones in their own individual styles. Los Lagos has wide fairways and greens but lots of water, Los Olivos is tighter, not as long but the tougher of the two.

Los Lagos, the longer of the two courses at 6,963 yards, is now twenty-five years old. The first hole, a par five dogleg left is, at 547 yards, long for an opening hole but Los Lagos has variety, broad fairways, plenty of trees, very little rough and large bunkers. The 10th and 13th tees stand side-by-side on a hill top. The 10th is the shorter hole with water on the right. The 13th is a par five down the same broad slope but now the water is on the left. All this can be seen on the GPS screens in the new fleet of EZ-Go buggies now available on the course.

The Los Olivos course is slightly more undulating than Los Lagos and it has been completely rebuilt, planted with Bermuda 419 and the greens have been enlarged by up to fifty percent. The old 4th which used to curve sharp right up to a raised green is now a straight hole. There are more and larger tees and the lake area around the 6th, 7th, 8th and 18th holes has been relined with white stone. The par four 13th has been straightened bringing the green into view from the tee and the 14th, par three has new high tees and a rebuilt green with new bunkers.

Both courses benefit from an Andalucían style clubhouse which enjoys great club house atmosphere and offers bar and restaurant services. Mijas Golf has one of the best stocked Pro Shops on the coast and on the course there is buggy rental available. Among the services available there is a pitching green and a putting green in addition to the availability of golf classes for individuals and for groups.
