Connolly’s win our 22nd World Invitational Father & Son Tournament

Congratulations to Martin & Daniel Connolly from The Olympic Club in San Francisco who won the 2011 World Invitational Father & Son Golf Tournament after three thrilling days play at the famous Kerry course. Previous winners Robert & Rudi Butler (IRE) finished 2nd with JP and Ciaran McManus coming in 3rd Place. Bruce & Conor Qvale from Cypress Point won the Plate.
The 2011 tournament was again a truly memorable occasion with 160 golfers from 7 countries (Ireland, England, Scotland, US, Canada, Argentina, Barbados).
Former world Snooker Champion Dennis Taylor, the greatest ice hockey player of all time Wayne Gretzky, Ireland's liberal answer to Rush Limbach, George Hook were amongst the participants that enjoyed 4 fantastic days on the Waterville Links.

Tom & Susan Sheehan take the title at our Celtic Couples Challenge 2011

Congratulations to Tom & Susan Sheehan from The International Club, Boston on their great with in our Celtic Couples Challenge 2011. They were followed closely by The Bateson's (UK). With The Chawke’s & The Scotts (USA) not far down the leaderboard
We had some fantastic golf, together with great accommodations at Aghadoe Heights Hotel and Adare Manor Resort. It's hard to decide which occasion outshone the other with a BBQ in the Presidential Suite at Aghadoe Heights or the Gala Dinner in the Minstrels Gallery at Adare Manor!

A great time was had by all participants.

Locals Kieran & Orla Walshe win our World Invitational Father & Daughter Tournament 2011

Congratulations to Doonbeg members Kieran & Orla Walshe who showed class on the golf course by winning the 2011 Event. This year we had such a mix of golfers, with Daughters from the age of 11 – 39!

Solheim Cup comes to Killeen Castle, Ireland

We were absolutely thrilled to be part of the 2011 Solheim Cup at Killeen Castle. Bringing to Ireland over 1,000 visitors, the atmosphere which surrounded the event was first class. The ladies on the course lived up to every expectation with a nail biting finish! For the home side, Europe were victors 15 – 13.
