MOY HOUSE

Moy House
Lahinch, Co. Clare, Ireland

Description:
Originally built in the mid 18th century as home to Sir Augustine Fitzgerald, Moy House today stands as one of Ireland's leading country guesthouses. Majestically set on 15 acres of grounds adorned by mature woodland and a picturesque river, Moy House overlooks the breathtakingly beautiful Lahinch Bay. Major restoration has literally transformed this country house in keeping with present day standards yet preserving its unique character, style and ambience.

Each of the eight oversized, comfortable bedrooms is individually designed with a mixture of classic and contemporary functionalism and aesthetics. All rooms offer superb views over the Atlantic Ocean, while an attractive feature in some of the rooms is a freestanding cast iron bathtub. The residential ambience of Moy House is enhanced by the traditional drawing room and lower library area, while the snug-like dining room offers the best in contemporary Irish fare for breakfast and dinner. On an overall level, Moy House is furnished with plush fabrics and antique furniture and provides every comfort for the most discerning guest.

Located within minutes of the famous championship links at Lahinch, it is also hard to imagine a better base from which to explore the surrounding rugged beauties of County Clare. Overlooking one of the finest beaches on Ireland's west coast, guests may visit the Lahinch sea-life aquarium, avail of its leisure facilities and take in the majestic sights of the Ailwee Caves in Ballyvaughan, the glorious Burren landscape and the hauntingly beautiful Cliffs of Moher.
